The state of Georgia has scheduled the execution of Stacey Humphreys for Wednesday, September 16. Mr. Humphreys’ had previously faced a looming execution date, but ongoing litigation delayed the execution.
The Catholic Church teaches that the death penalty is “inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person” (CCC 2267).
