Newborn Safe Haven
HB 350, which has crossed over to the Senate, would allow medical facilities, fire stations, police stations and ambulances to install “baby boxes” so that mothers can safely surrender their baby anonymously. If passed, HB 350 would also increase safeguards for the baby, mandating dual alarm systems to ensure that trained professionals are immediately alerted of the baby and that the newborn can be promptly taken into loving care.

Vote No on HB 1138
House Bill 1138 is currently under consideration in the Senate. This bill would expand access to contraceptives by allowing pharmacists to dispense them without a physician’s oversight. Not only does this expansion further erode the vital link between sexual expression and openness to life, this can also put women’s health at risk by taking contraceptives without the individualized and more comprehensive care provided by physicians.
